Hard Way Session — Setting Up the $220 Combo and Watching It Play Out

Here is what a hard way session looks like when the place 6/8 + hard 6/8 combo is running at a $10 table. The position goes up at $220. The session proceeds one roll at a time until the 7 or the hard way fire resolves it.

The Setup

Shooter establishes a point. Place $60 on the 6 and $60 on the 8, then $50 each on hard 6 and hard 8 in the center ($220 total). Hard ways are off on the come-out by default — the point is now set so they are working. Stickman confirms everything is placed.

The Soft Hit Cycle

The 8 rolls — 6-2, not 4-4. Place 8 pays $70. Hard 8 is gone. Tell the stickman "hard eight back up for fifty." Pocket $20. Position back to $220. Two rolls later the 6 rolls — 5-1 soft. Place 6 pays $70, hard 6 gone, rebuild for $50, pocket $20. Two soft hits: $40 in the rack, $220 still working.

The Resolution

Three possible endings: 7 comes and takes $220 (net for the hand: +$40 minus $220 = -$180). Hard 6 fires (3-3): place 6 pays $70 plus hard 6 wins $450 = $520 on that roll. Or the soft hit cycle continues with $20 accumulating per hit. Bluffin With Aces documents this session in real time on YouTube — subscribe to see which outcome closed the hand.
